About the Book

Keena doesn’t mean to get into trouble, but sometimes she just can’t help it. Like when her lovely new teacher Ms Campbell thinks that it’s Keena’s birthday. She knows that she should correct her teacher, but the moment never seems right. And how can she come clean now, when there’s a big chocolate cake and a sparkly crown with her name on it? Fortunately, Keena journals about all of her hilarious mix-ups, from birthdays to brothers to new friends. I hope our girls will relate to Keena’s tendency to get herself into hot water, even when she’s got the best intentions.

The Girls Leadership Connection

In every relationship, it’s important to have brave conversations. When Keena makes a mistake, she gathers her courage and apologizes, even though she’s worried about damaging her relationships. Giving a heartfelt apology to someone in our lives takes a lot of bravery. What are other kinds of brave conversations? Do you avoid these conversations, or do you face them head on?

Buy, borrow, or download a copy of this book and read it before your November book club meeting.
