Sherese Reed

Educator

Sherese is a person who wears many hats. If her friends were to elaborate on her hats, they would say she is an actor, educator and arts education advocate. Knowing that theatre can be used as more than just entertainment, Sherese has made it her mission to use theatre as a tool for change.

Having a knack for socially driven curriculum development, she creates and facilitates theatre for social change workshops throughout the tristate area for school districts and community service organizations. Furthermore, when not teaching, she provides professional development workshops for teachers looking to use theatrical activities in their classrooms.

In 2017, Sherese founded Staged Smart, LLC. An arts programming organization that provides virtual actor coaching. Through this work, she has been able to spread her love for theatre globally while coaching her clients for their arts conservatory auditions.

On her rare breaks from her teaching, she enjoys seeing various works of art, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. After 6 years of working with Girls Leadership as an educator, it is a great honor to now be the New Jersey Program Manager and continue the mission to equip girls with the skills to exercise the power of their voice. Sherese holds an MA in Educational Theatre from New York University.
