Julia has been working in education and theater for the past eight years and is ecstatic to be joining the Girls Leadership team. She was drawn to the power of theater as a tool for social change while learning about Theatre of the Oppressed and Arts Literacy in college. Her dedication to this work grew while using these tools during her time teaching in Ecuador, Turkey, and Thailand. After witnessing the positive impact of theater in the classroom, she knew she had found her passion. Julia is currently pursuing her Master’s in Applied Theatre at the CUNY School of Professional Studies and working as a teaching artist for Lincoln Center Theater Education’s program Learning English and Drama. She is thrilled to be using theater to encourage healthy communication with Girl’s Leadership!
